arketing your business can seem like an overwhelming task. Here are more tips to help boil it all down to an easy-to-digest list of dos and don'ts.
Check out part 1 here, and part 3 here.
DO plan a long-term strategy.
It takes time to establish a brand, and to see results from your marketing efforts.
Be patient and allow the strategy to organically produce results.
DON'T use GeoFencing or retargeting.
You can't annoy someone into hiring you.
There’s a difference organically building your brand's online presence, and trying to cheat through an algorithm's endless repetition. Partner with someone who knows how to achieve results naturally.
DO set marketing goals and put them in writing.
Challenge your marketing team to develop and promote new ideas to reach those goals.
Review the numbers with your team on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to see if the goals are being met.
DON'T hire someone’s relative or neighbor just because they’re always on social media.
There's more to being a social media manager than simply knowing how to daily navigate and post on social media.
Constantly being on social media doesn’t mean that a person knows how to properly use the technology for marketing effectiveness. And, if they’re known for being on Instagram and Twitter all the time, they’ll most likely be on Instagram and Twitter on your time. Get a professional.
The points above are just the tip of the iceberg, but thinking about them can get you started down the path towards a successful marketing approach. Keep checking back here for the next entries in this series of Marketing Dos and Don'ts.
