The Sumner Group was recently announced as a winner in the 38th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards. The agency was a winner of six individual awards in several categories for campaigns developed for CarolinaEast Health System in New Bern, North Carolina.The campaigns included print, outdoor, radio and TV.
The Sumner Group was recognized in the following categories:
GOLD – SECU Comprehensive Cancer Center Newspaper Series
GOLD – SECU Comprehensive Cancer Center Outdoor/Billboard Series
GOLD – TV Ad series “Love Lifted Me”
SILVER – Newspaper Series, “Simply Amazing”
SILVER – TV Ad Series –SECU Comprehensive Cancer Center “You Are Not Alone.”
BRONZE – “Simply Amazing” – Magazine Series
This year, over 4400 entries were received, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition and one of the ten largest of all advertising awards. Gold awards were given to 445 entries, silver awards to 322 entries and bronze awards to 245 entries. The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition.
A national panel of judges were engaged in reviewing all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. There were nine healthcare systems in the Carolinas that were recognized, including: Cone Health, Baptist Health, BCBS, and CarolinaEast’s new healthcare partner, UNC Health who received five awards including one gold, three bronze and one merit. National health leaders such as Johns Hopkins, Henry Food Center, UVA Health and Emory were also recognized.

Winners were announced May 15th. Creative Director Anthony Rodriguez designed the campaigns. Assistant Art Director Brandon McBee assisted in execution.
