The Gastonia Grizzlies are a collegiate summer baseball team playing in the Coastal Plain League.

Gastonia Grizzlies

The Grizzlies are known as Gaston County’s hometown team. The team is known for crazy promotions and fireworks shows. After their 10th Anniversary Season, in 2011, the Grizzlies won the Coastal Plain League Pettit Cup Championship. More than 50 Grizzlies have been drafted by the Major leagues, including Russell Wilson, who led the Seattle Seahawks to an NFL Championship in 2014.

The Grizzlies had spent a decade as “The Best Show In Town,” providing quality baseball and family entertainment for Gaston County. After their 10 year anniversary, and following their championship run, the time was right to re-approach the club’s identity.

Having a productive relationship with the club for years, the Grizzlies retained The Sumner Group to refresh their identity and carry over the new look to various merchandise items.

Along with Managing Partner Jesse Cole, we created a bold and aggressive new identity.
