Michael D. Sumner, is a Gaston County native with 20 years of marketing and advertising experience. A 1978 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a degree in Communications, he has been a guest instructor at the UNC School of Communications for seven years. Michael has served on the Board of Trustees of Gaston Day School, President of the AIDS Council of Gaston County, and currently on the Board of the Salvation Army and Gastonia Rotary Club.Before founding The Sumner Group, he served as account representative for Leslie Advertising, one of the largest and most prestigious agencies in the South. Michael has a wide range of advertising and marketing experience, which includes a number of large industrial accounts, statewide and national banks, legal and medical firms, travel and tourism accounts, non-profit organizations, schools, colleges and universities, real estate developments, retail and many consumer product accounts.Michael's goal had remained consistent since he opened the agency in 1987: to provide effective marketing services at affordable rates to businesses, professional firms and community organizations. Michael and Jacque live in Cramerton with their five children.
